Prof. Ravindra Ojha, currently the Chair – Operations at the School of Inspired Leadership (SOIL) was the Director – School of Engineering & Technology, at The NorthCap University (NCU), Gurgaon.  He was the Managing Director of G. K. N. Driveline India Ltd (GKN) and has been the part of the four-fold growth journey at GKN. He has a rich corporate experience of more than three decades in the automotive manufacturing sector, GKN, TATA Motors and Eicher being the prominent ones.

He has a of B Tech. (Mechanical) degree from N.I.T (formerly R.E.C) Warangal (Gold medalist), M Engineering (Industrial Engg. & Management) from the Asian Institute of Technology Bangkok and has his PhD (Manufacturing Excellence using Systems Dynamics modelling) from NCU. He has created three world-class manufacturing plants for GKN in Chennai and Pune and was awarded the Best MD in Asia Pacific region in GKN in the year 2008.  His exposure to Best-in-class manufacturing systems of eighteen counties has helped in his journey of manufacturing excellence. He has 24 papers published in national and international journals. Four of these papers have won the best paper awards.  His areas of interest and research are Cellular manufacturing systems, Technology audits, Manufacturing excellence, application of System dynamics to study behaviours, Lean operating systems, Project Management and Supply Chain management. He has been an excellent sportsman and continues to keep himself fit through his morning walks/ exercise.

Ashutosh is the founding Partner of PROACT Management Consulting. With over 14 years of line and consulting experience, he has been instrumental in several “Transformation” initiatives in a wide spectrum of industries. He has a background in implementation of “Total Quality” Programs, Six Sigma projects and Business Process Re-engineering initiatives.

He was part of one of the pioneering efforts in the Indian consulting arena pertaining to “Service Quality”. He was instrumental in establishing “Service Quality” as a consulting practice by successfully developing a version of “Service Strategy Deployment” customized to the Indian context. Tested a few of his clients the methodology has been tested and proven successful. This aims at creating a well-defined Service Strategy for a Service Organization and implementing it to achieve Tangible, Measurable, Time-bound business goals that are owned up and well accepted at all levels in the organization.

Some of the clients he has worked for include: American Express – FC (East), American Express TRS (India), GE Capital International Services, ICICI OneSource, Tata Telecom, Quark India, The World Bank-WSP(SA), Amway India Enterprises, British Gas, Shriram Industrial Enterprises, Perfetti India and Mother Dairy (Delhi & Calcutta).

He has a BE degree in Electrical Engineering, PG Diploma in Business Administration in the Area of Operations and Marketing Management. He is also a Certified Lead Assessor for ISO 9000 series of Quality Standards.

Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota


Kingshuk is a Professor in the Operations and Management Science Department and the holder of the Curtis L. Carlson Family Foundation Professorship in Management Science at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. His degrees include a Ph.D. in Management and an M.S. in Petroleum Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, and a B.Tech (Honors) in Petroleum Engineering from the Indian School of Mines. Before beginning his graduate studies at The University of Texas at Austin he worked for the offshore production and engineering planning groups of Dubai Petroleum Company (operated by Conoco Inc.) in the United Arab Emirates.

His areas of scholarly interests are Management of Technology, Quality Management, Supply Chain Management and Health Care Management. He teaches courses in the MBA, Executive MBA, International MBA, Ph.D., and undergraduate programs. Typically, Dr. Sinha conducts his research projects in partnership with industries. The empirical settings of his research projects have included the high-tech; health care/medical; retail; food; and energy/oil and gas industries. His papers have appeared in journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Decision Sciences, European Journal of Operational Research, Interfaces, Journal of Accounting Research, Journal of Operations Management, Journal of Service Research, Management Science, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Organization Science, and Production and Operations Management. Among the recognition he has received include the Journal of Operations Management’s Best Paper Award, the Stan Hardy Award for the Best Published Paper in Operations Management, the Decision Sciences Institute’s Best Theoretical and Empirical Research Paper Award, the Decision Sciences Journal’s Best Paper Award, and the IBM Best Paper Award from the Production and Operations Management Society.

He has served as the Director of the Joseph M. Juran Center for Leadership in Quality, committed to advancing research and education on improvement and innovation in manufacturing and service organizations, and supply chains. He has served as the Founding Academic Director of the Medical Industry Leadership Institute (MILI) that was established to advance management research and leadership education for the medical industry sector. He has served as the Ph.D. Program Coordinator and the MBA Program Coordinator for the Operations and Management Science Department. Dr. Sinha’s roles in professional societies have included serving as the Program Chair for the 2002 Annual Meeting of the Production and Operations Management Society in San Francisco (Conference Theme: “High Tech Production and Operations Management”) and as a Board Member and Secretary of the Society. He serves as a Senior Editor (Management of Technology) of the Production and Operations Management journal and served as the Guest Editor of the journal’s special issue on high tech industry; and as a Senior Editor of the Decision Sciences journal and served as the Guest Editor of the journal’s special issue on decision making in the health sector supply chain.

Ravi introduced Theory of Constraints (TOC) in India and now focuses his efforts on increasing the wealth of his clients through a systematic application of Dr. Eli Goldratt’s Theory of Constraints in Operations Management. He is the first practicing ‘Jonah'(TOC Expert) in India and the founder of Goldratt, India and is personally trained by Dr. Goldratt. Ravi regularly disseminates his knowledge at a number of international conferences. He enjoys striving for the impossible by challenging sacred assumptions and complexity.

For over 34 years, Ravi’s industrial experience has evolved from a core in Manufacturing Engineering through to Total Quality Management and Business Process Re-engineering to the Theory of Constraints (TOC). Prior to founding Goldratt India, Ravi was Chief Consultant at Eicher Consultancy Services Limited. During his consulting career of over 14 years, Ravi has consulted for and with several global organizations, such as L&T, Godrej & Boyce, Salora International, RPG Cables, ABB, Alstom, Indian Aluminum, Dalmia Cement, ICI, Exide and Eicher. Before starting his consulting career, Ravi gained valuable experience for 21 years in operations in the automobile industry (TELCO & Eicher).

Praveen Malik is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) with rich 23 years of professional experience. He is a computer science engineer by education and has good working experience of managing large multi-geography projects and programs.

Over the years he has noticed that failure of projects and/or huge cost & schedule overruns can be primarily attributed to (inadequate) resource management, (reactive) communication management and (lack of focus to) risk management; insufficient project planning and/or poor execution along with little controls are as much a culprit. He believes that proactive project management can make a significant impact on project profitability; it can greatly enhance customer service and positively influence ROI. He takes a keen interest in furthering the cause of project management as a profession.

Praveen has a unique distinction of working in different business environments viz. product development, services & support, product-oriented services and software as a service. His experience includes wide-ranging exposure to different industrial domains like Healthcare, Government, Infrastructure, Insurance and Banking. He has worked and interacted with clients across different geographies – USA, Europe and India.

Praveen takes a keen interest in furthering the cause of project management as a profession. Praveen is a trainer at heart; he has mentored and formally trained many successful individuals on finer aspects of practical project management.

Praveen has been providing project management training from very early in his career and in 2008 he took a mid-career shift to start doing project management training as a prime vocation.

Praveen, nowadays, devotes his time in conducting formal training & workshops in project management including PMP facilitation workshops, risk management training, general project management training and MS Project workshops.
