You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth. The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far. Let your bending in the archer’s hand be for gladness; For even as He loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable.
-Kahlil Gibran on Parents
In one word if I had to define parents and the feeling associated with them I would say stability. In this chaotic routine of young professionals if there’s one feeling we seek desperately is that of stability, and parents give us just that. All the support, love, confidence that they have in us can be appreciated on any given day or any given time, but one special dedicated day for it seemed just fitting. Our founder Mr. Anil Sachdev encourages us to celebrate the appreciation for all the unconditional support rendered to us from our parents on date. You may be wondering this date does not co-incide with the official date of when our country celebrates it. The reason is both heart touching and overwhelming, our founder Mr. Anil Sachdev’s father’s birthday falls on this date and this is the day we at SOIL, celebrate it in our own way. The celebration starts with Anil Sir talking about his father. He spoke about the great regard and esteem he holds for his father and will forever continue to do so. He spoke about the paramount place his father has in his life and his teachings that continues to inspire him. I was accompanied by my folks and when I scanned across the room all I could see his eyes that shone with tears of adore and praise by the time Anil Sir completed sharing. Post which Sir invited all of us to share whatever was emerging within us amongst our parents who were sitting in the room. If I have to sum up what everybody spoke, it would be this. The strength, courage and dedication with which they bring us up are greatly responsible for making us grow up to be successful individuals and inspiring leaders. Come to think of it, their job never ends for as long as they are alive, they keeping caring for their children who themselves may be middle-aged or older. They are like angels sent by God to ceaselessly nurture and nourish us with their utmost love and infinite confidence. Though we can show your love for them on any day, a day devoted especially for them gives us a fitting platform for you to acknowledge and reciprocate your feelings for them. And this day shall hold in my parent’s heart a special place for years to come. I can effectively say that I’m blessed to have two families one in which I was born and one in which my soul was reincarnated-SOIL.
