First week at SOIL

It has been an interesting and a unique one week journey so far, at SOIL. When I walked into the school on the first day, my mind was full of questions, heart full of hope and apprehensions at the same time, and a body which was a little hesitant, because of not being sure of my decision. I knew no one from the earlier batch, faculty, or any staff member. Nevertheless decided to follow my heart and pursue one of my long standing dreams.

However, first week into the school and I am so happy I made this decision and took the plunge. It was so refreshing to see people smiling at you even when they didn't know you. Everyone was making an effort to get to know the other person and to make each other comfortable. The CEO, the President, faculty and the staff at school have all gone out of their way to make us feel a part of this ‘Inspired family’, already. It feels as if we belong here.

In this one week, the kind of self- introspection each one of us has gone through, this trying to connect with our inner self, align our thought process and find the purpose of our 'being', we probably would not have done all our life. And the best part has been, we get to share our insights with each other. We are learning to celebrate our individuality and uniqueness along with developing our capability to appreciate others.

The concept of 'Morning Circle' is so unique to SOIL. We may or may not pray at home every morning. However, in SOIL, whatever the religion, whatever the language, whatever the form, you make time to remember and thank the supreme power for all that you've been blessed with.

Along with all the excitement, all the fun and learning, we also realize that the road ahead is full of challenges and loads of opportunities. It is how we decide to make use of the opportunities to develop our capabilities and handle the challenges to hone our potential, to become the kind of leaders we hope to be and the kind of human beings we wish to be .

‘There is so much to learn and so much to earn,
so much to take and so much to give,
so let's stop existing and start to live’

Live as much as possible of this one year that we have here and it would be ours to cherish for life. Come, let's celebrate and say cheers to the wonderful journey at SOIL.

My heartfelt wishes to all our seniors who have already treaded this beautiful path and are soon, moving on to altogether new, excitingphases of their lives. Thank you for leading the way. Together, we have miles to go, before we sleep and lots to sow, before we reap.
