Centre for Human Values

The Center encourages the study of human values, with a focus on the foundations of the moral, political, and legal systems within which human beings live.

The Center's mission encompasses not only the traditional concerns of moral, political, and legal theory – both Indian and Western - but also attempts to sensitize corporate, political and social communities on the relevance of cultural heritage and beliefs in today’s world.

The Center hosts several discussions, lectures and workshops on traditional problems and perspectives which are supplemented by empirical findings in liberal arts research. The Center is home to a growing number of academicians, students, and government and non-government leaders with deep interests in various aspects of human values.

The Center strives to provide the larger community with space and resources to reflect systematically on fundamental questions of value—how we should understand our moral identities and social heritage, how we should treat each other, and how we should try to shape our world.
